13th Edition START-EAT-UP | Catering Stories
Listening to others is also part of our growth.

The 13th edition of STARt-EAT-UP brought together decision-makers, operators, brands, specialists and success stories from the sector, in an afternoon dedicated to sharing real stories. Journeys, decisions and moments that helped shape brands and careers.
More than just trajectories, we heard choices. And often, the impact of betting on the right person at the right time.
Held at CIBT Centro de Incubação de Base Tecnológica do Turismo, in Estoril, this meeting once again affirmed START EAT UP as an essential meeting point for those looking to transform knowledge into action. But also as a source of motivation for those who want to enter the sector and start well right from the start.
In a dynamic and collaborative environment, very characteristic of the START EAT UP universe, the afternoon was dedicated to exploring real challenges, overcoming obstacles and learning experiences that today serve as a reference for those who want to do better.
A program designed to inspire
The session began at 2:30 pm, with check-in and an initial networking moment, essential for creating connections between professionals and stimulating the exchange of ideas.
At 3:05 pm, the official opening took place, led by Storesace and DIG IN, who set the context for the central theme of this edition: Catering Stories.
Pitches that tell more than stories
The first pitch was given by Duarte Meneses, from Grupo Avillez, who shared his journey and the role he plays as Director of Culture and People, showing how talent management is a strategic pillar in the sector.

This was followed by a conversation with Chakall, in an interview conducted by Storesace. In an open and informal format, he answered questions from the organization and the public, bringing a practical and authentic vision of his journey.

Pedro Monteiro, from Grupo do Avesso, then took the stage to share his journey to restaurant management, in a testimony aligned with the theme of this edition.

Mafalda Zuzarte brought a perspective focused on marketing and sales, highlighting the role of digitalization and digital tools in the growth of businesses in the sector.

To conclude, André SimÔes de Almeida, from Kappo and Izakaya, shared his journey to winning a Michelin Star, an example of consistency, vision and demanding standards.

The impact of these moments
For those who weren't there, it might seem like just another set of presentations. But those who experienced the moment realized that each intervention brought a different reality, marked by challenges, difficult decisions and ambition.
START EAT UP is also this. A stage where different stories intersect and where inspiration takes shape.
Digitalization is one of the project's pillars, but the focus goes beyond that. We want to motivate, challenge and empower each participant to build their own path in the sector.

Networking that generates opportunities
The event ended with the usual networking moment, reinforcing what has already become evident. The real value lies in the connections that are created.
Informal conversations, sharing of real experiences and relationships that often turn into concrete opportunities.
START EAT UP continues
Edition after edition, we consolidate our role as a meeting point for those who believe that the future of catering is built with innovation, sharing and applied knowledge.
Without forgetting the most important thing. Motivation and inspiration.
New topics. New editions. New challenges.
Always with the same purpose: to empower the catering sector for the future.
See you at the next edition.
