POP-EAT-UP & 2 new concepts, in 2 cities!

In August, we decided not to take a break!

August is that month when things slow down. Agendas get lighter, teams organize themselves differently, and September starts to appear on the horizon.

But this year, with START-EAT-UP, we decided to do things differently.

Instead of waiting for September, we brought the gathering to the table in Lisbon and Porto for a special edition—lighter in format, but with the same desire to bring people together, share experiences, and talk about what really happens in the day-to-day life of the restaurant industry.

Two cities, the same desire to talk

Lisbon and Porto hosted this new START-EAT-UP format, the POP-EAT-UP, and in both cities, we found what we always look for in these meetings: people willing to listen, share, and discuss ideas. Because that is what makes these moments special.

More than just talking about trends or presenting new features, we want to create space for real conversations. The kind that starts with a specific topic and quickly shifts to experiences, challenges, opinions, and solutions that make sense for those on the ground.

A different edition, but with the same spirit

We called it a lighter version of the usual format. Not because we had less to say, but because we wanted to create something new, something lighter, closer, and more relaxed.

Two novelties were at the heart of the conversation and served as a starting point to talk about real challenges and new ways of turning them into opportunities. Without great formalities. Without complicating things.

In Lisbon, a Pop Up by Grupo Nómada, which brings to the capital the sando, a Japanese-style sandwich that will make your mouth water. In Porto, we introduced Under Porto, a speakeasy bar that promises a relaxed atmosphere, signature cocktails, and invites you to explore the city to find Pátio do Bolhão, nº 35.

A large table, separated by approximately 300 km, but more connected than ever, with many ideas and people with things to say.

Thank you for being part of it, even in August.

This light format only happened because some people decided to set aside an afternoon in August to be with us.

To everyone who attended, whether in Lisbon or Porto, our biggest thank you!

Thank you for the questions, the opinions, the shared stories, and the conversations that continued after the event.

That is what we want START-EAT-UP to be: a space where the restaurant industry meets to talk about the present, think about the future, and, why not, simply talk.

August was different. And we liked that. And we might add, the POP-EAT-UP will happen and repeat itself when you least expect it. We see this format as something that can be spontaneous and can happen at any moment; it’s another one of our ideas to unite the restaurant industry even more, and perhaps, with each POP-EAT-UP, we will have the privilege of always introducing you to an exclusive novelty.

We will be back in September with our usual format so that, together, we can help the restaurant sector in Portugal take another step towards a future that is more technological, full of innovation and digitalization.

See you in September.
