Where Innovation and Restaurant converge.
The 14th Edition of START-EAT-UP once again proved to be one of the most relevant meeting points for those rethinking the future of the restaurant industry through technology, innovation, and new business models. This time, in a special format.
As part of the SIM Conference Side Events, it took place in Porto, on May 14th, at the Neya Porto Hotel, just minutes from the AlfĂąndega, bringing an even more transversal energy to the ecosystem.

More than just an event focused exclusively on the food sector, this edition of START-EAT-UP opened doors to a broader dialogue among founders, investors, retailers, brands, and players from various technological areas. The result was clear: more diversity, more perspectives, and highly qualified networking.
A stage for industry convergence.
The program was designed to spark reflection and bring together realities that, at first glance, might seem distant, but are now deeply interconnected.
Through keynotes and panels, topics such as the impact of data on foodtech and how technology is transforming food businesses, from production to final consumption, were discussed.

Speakers shaping the Future.
- This edition featured relevant voices from the ecosystem:
- Nuno Fernades and LuĂs Azeredo, from DIG-IN
- Afonso Ravasco, from Trash4Goods
- Veruska Dias, from Speedbird Aero
- Francisco Sousa, from Talabat
- Sérgio Rodrigues and Beatriz Pinto, from Storesace
- LuĂz Felipe Costa, from Braza

Each intervention reinforced the same idea: the future of the restaurant industry no longer exists in isolation; it thrives in a network, fueled by data, smart logistics, sustainability, and new consumer experiences.
Networking that extends beyond the stage
One of the highlights of this edition was the extension of networking at the Ecosystem Table dinner. This format was designed to bring the different actors of the ecosystem even closer, creating less formal, but potentially more transformative conversations.
Because, after all, the best ideas often emerge around the table.

What remains from this edition.
More than a series of talks, this edition of START-EAT-UP showed that the restaurant industry is evolving into a hybrid territory, where technology, data, and human experience intersect more and more naturally.
