When Delivery Dictates the Course of Modern Restaurant Business.
Lisbon hosted the 10th edition of START-EAT-UP, a meeting that once again brought together decision-makers, brands, and experts to discuss one of the most decisive topics in today's restaurant industry: delivery as a strategic driver of the business.
Held at CIBT — Tourism Technology-Based Incubation Center, in Estoril, this event reinforces START-EAT-UP's role as a space for practical reflection, knowledge sharing, and connection between technology, data, and real operations.
In an environment marked by proximity, strategic vision, and real experiences, our afternoon focused on the major challenges and opportunities that delivery brings to the management, logistics, and sustainable growth of the restaurant business.
A program designed for the present — and the future.
The session began at 2:30 PM with Check-In and Networking, immediately creating an environment conducive to the exchange of ideas among industry professionals.
At 3:00 PM, the opening of this session was led by DIG-IN and storesace, who, in partnership, monthly organize this movement of sharing and digitalization of the restaurant sector in Portugal.

Panel 1 | Data as the Basis for Strategic Management.
The first panel of the afternoon addressed one of the most fundamental pillars of modern delivery: the use of data and strategic management in the delivery business.
With the participation of theRest, Non Basta, and ADECI Group, the discussion focused on the role of data in decision-making, optimizing operations, and building more efficient and profitable business models.
It became clear that, in an increasingly competitive market, those who know how to read, interpret, and act on data are always one step ahead.

Panel 2 | 2020–2030: learning from the past to prepare for the future
The second panel of the afternoon covered a decade of achievements, offering "A Retrospective for the Future", where DIG-IN, Uber Eats, and City Chefs analyzed and discussed the evolution of the delivery business, presenting relevant data on the growth and use of delivery in the restaurant industry.
Through the analysis of existing information in this segment and speculation about what is yet to come, it became evident that delivery occupies an increasing space in our lives and that the trend is continuous growth and development.

Panel 3 | Management and Logistics in Detail.
The final part of the program was dedicated to the details that make a difference in day-to-day operations: "The Big Details: Management and Logistics."
With Burger King, Catcher, and storesace, the panel highlighted the importance of operational efficiency, well-structured logistics, and intelligent use of technology to scale delivery without compromising quality, margins, or customer experience.
Once again, it became evident that the success of delivery is built on the details.
